I do too many LloydxZelos and I find incest (KratosxLloyd) creepy X_x which makes me a hypocrite, since some of the best fanfics I've read involve those too and I'm one of those clubs... then again... NO. I'll have too many Kratos purists on my ass. X___x;;;

Layers are important!!!!
took me forever to realize that part! XD
i usually color the skin first, then the clothing, lastly the hair...that gets me annoyed X3
i usually do this with the pencil or brush tool, but if your original pic is black and white and you are keeping the outlines, you can just use the magic wand to select the areas you want to color
[link] <- i used the magic wand for almost ever single part of this pic (yesh i'm lazzy XD)

anyways....
for the skin, there are many ways to color it
but i'll just tell you the kind that I'm experimenting with right now
first, get a skin color (i steal....i mean get them from other people's art )
on layer "A" color all the skin parts, and then, find a slightly darker skin color to serve as the shadow.
make a new layer (i gonna call it layer "B" XD) and groupit to the previous layer through "ctrl"+"G"
on layer "B" use this color to color where you think the shadow should go.
then, using the burnishing/burn tool, make the skin color darker or lighter as you wish
the smearing tool also helps get rid of the hard edges

clothing
i just use cel shading for this
and of course, my good friends, the burn and burnish tool


and...i have no talent in drawing back grounds

SHORT CUTS!!!!
how i luv them
"ctrl" + "e" = to make 2 layers into 1
"ctrl" + "g" = to group 2 layers
"ctrl" + "s" = save
"alt" + mouse = to cut off extra legs when using the pen tool
"ctrl" + "backspace" = fill a selected area with the backgorund color
