Description
Reference sheet for Rodney Radruff Jr. (or better known as R.J.)The resident troublemaker of the Avalon Kingdom, Rodney Radruff Jr. is a 12 year old puppy known for pulling pranks around his hometown just for the fun of it. After pulling a silly stunt at a formal ceromony in the kingdom, R.J. is thrust into a series of events that will eventually lead him to undergo training as a Raptor Rider for the newly established Avalon Freelancer Corps (the AvaCorps for short) as a member of their Raptor Squadron. He longs for piloting a Robot Raptor for combat like in the mecha animes, but instead tasked with using one for mundane work (Cargo Loading, Salvage, & Farmwork). That dosen't stop him from taking his Raptor into the thick of combat but R.J. dosent realize he's biting more off than he can chew, and that war is no game...
R.J. grew up not knowing who his parents are, as they perished years ago from a devestating event that still affects the world of Ferreria to this day. Under the guidance of squadron commander Leon Maxwell, R.J. looks up to him as his mentor, and father figure. R.J. now lives with the rest of his squadron at their base and becomes bunkmates with fellow Raptor Rider and rival, Joey "Maverick" Fox (much to the disdain of both of them).
On the field, he goes by the callsign "Dogboy" due to his age. He does not like being called that and prefers being called R.J. instead.

Notes:
-His nickname R.J. came from the main character of the "Over The Hedge" movie while his real name "Rodney" came from the cartoon Squirrel Boy. Its worth noting that both characters mentioned are troublesome and I want my OC to reflect that at first before undergoing some positive character development in the stories I plan to tell for him.
-R.J.'s role as a mecha pilot is basically my version of mecha anime characters like Amuro Ray (Gundam) & Shinji Ikari (Evangelion), young kids who find themselves piloting a giant robot, and suffering trauma as a result. To some extent, Ripely from the Aliens movie due to her using a power loader mech for manual work.
-The aviator goggles are inspired by Digimon characters that wear them. In this case, the goggles worn around the cap idea came from Takuya from Digimon Frontier ( digimon.fandom.com/wiki/Takuya…)
-His eyes are inspired by Sonic's sidekick Tails.
-R.J.'s face muzzle is inspired by Gaomon, a Digimon from the Data Squad/Savers season although I had to stretch out the Gaomon face muzzle to make this look good ( wikimon.net/File:017_Gaomon.pn…)
-The floppy ears are inspired by Hunter from Road Rovers, Matt from ThesePantsDon'tFit (tinydeerguy on Twitter), oomizuao's Sam, and Max from Secret Life of Pets. Although I think many dog OCs use this kind of "button" ear design.
-The bangs are basically a "reversal" of Sonic's hair (or is it quills?). Instead of being on the back, its placed on the front of the cap sticking out as bangs.
-Speaking of hair, the little turf of hair between the eyes is also Digimon's Takuya.
-The vest is inspired by the Naruto flack jackets the higher level ninja wear. This is actually a custom uniform of the Avalon Freelancer Corps.
-The yellow/beige and red hair color sheme is from Kion of The Lion Guard, while his clothing color scheme is inspired from both Ash Ketchum from Pokemon (Diamond & Pearl Version) and one of Gumball Watterson's outfits.
-The decision to make him a golden retriever / terrier mix is influenced from another OC; Sam, from the artist oomizuao on Deviantart. R.J.'s ears are inspired by this character as well.
-RJ's Wrench is inspired by one of the OmniWrenches from Ratchet and Clank, and it also has a stun blaster attachment, which its design and function is inspired by Ezra Bridger's 1st lightsaber from Star Wars Rebels. static.wikia.nocookie.net/s...…
