Description
Imagine a world before mankind, or any ape for that matter. Imagine a world before placental mammals, grass, snakes, ants, or even birds. This world did at one point exist but what if it wasn’t quite how the fossil record remembers? Could there be ancient mysteries that were never meant for the eyes of man? If that world did exist perhaps somewhere out in the immensity of the universe it could have looked something like Triasslya.

The swamps of Triasslya are a very dangerous place for any animal, even the mighty Vanlitro. Something these two soldiers were all too well aware of before entering its damp trenches. While investigating for signs of an enemy force they hear a large splash in the bog next to them. The two of them are expecting a giant amphibious Capitosaur, an angry Phytosaur, or maybe a rarer carnivorous tanystropheus. To the surprise of the two steadfast warriors the entity that arises is like nothing they've ever seen before.

Behold the Nothagon! As the name would suggest it is a gigantic freshwater Nothosaur. This species of Nothosaur travels great distances along bodies of water to get to the ideal fishing spots that pop up around the globe following large typhoons and hurricanes. Because of this the animal has an ominous undertone to its appearance, heralding inadvertently that a large and dangerous storm is nearby or worse on its way.

That is not to imply that either of these two shell-brains know that, they're simply shocked and terrified to see an animal so strange and off-putting in a world already full of strange and off-putting fauna. Hopefully they report a decent description to a higher ranking officer that knows these animals but their embarrassment doesn't bode well for that outcome. The Nothagon does little else but watch these strange bipedal archosaurs gawk at it, not sensing any danger despite never encountering weaponry of any sort. It will soon sulk away to find a good fishing spot and possibly join its brethren in its sacred practice.
