This is my desktop.Style: Aero (portet to XP)
OS: Windows XP Professional
Programs: Winamp with glassONE skin, Selfmade Sidebar in Samurize, Rocketdock with Glass Skin, Miranda with Skin from deppvomdienst

Actually I love vista for the idea of transparency and the icons... so i created for myself a style using many different transparent skins + the vista customisation Pack #3
the Sidebar was my biggest problem.. I searched for Weeks in order to get a proper Vista Sidebar ported to XP but finally I gave up. I tried to come along with the Object Dock sidebars by Thjoose and deppvomdienst but after that I decided to create a new one inspirated by the Deviations of those two in Samurize - The Gadgeds are own Samurize Configs and are moveable - If asked, i would make it downloadable and add it to Deviantart.
Of course it will be editable, as any Samurize config

It's nice .....but:
there are two many icons in the systray
there are too many icons in the quicklaunch
you should use miranda state icons wich are suitable with the rest of the skin
you should take censoreship for your ip^^ (not for moddding, for safety)
try to use icons suiting to each other in the dock!

This must be a lot of work, it's the first time I'm interesting in Windows skins so I don't know exactly what you created and what you used, but your desktop sure looks great ! I love the feeling of depth it provides and it seems very "alive". The only thing I would suggest would be reworking the background a bit, so that the tree is sharper.
