Description Your query of life's trivial concerns is spoken with so much ease.
But I suggest holding your need for conversation carefully in check, if you please.
Or, you might find answers you had really rather not.
Or, that what I answer is something you would have never sought.

I could tell you of the terrors you tell yourself are not there.
Not everything that is... is light, and tranquil, and fair.
And some things that seem quite innocent, are not that way at all.
There is also a world of darkness, and those who heed its call.

Look around you... do you see... shapes and shadows not quite right?
Best to be careful my inquisitive passenger, one can be blinded by the light.
Look there, out the carriage window... as we pass.

The little white moth spying from his sea of glass.
The dark red beasts watching in their circle of tall black grass.
The twisted man who whispers.. things that others won't.
I know the haunts and habits of creatures that you don't.

I've heard the children screaming, from the nightmare's goodnight kiss.
Though I prefer the silence of cold eyes staring, from places your eyes miss.
And I'd rather not tell of a life's journey that knows not to end.
Don't ask me.. never ask me.. you shouldn't ask quite so many questions.. my curious friend.

Demons run wild in these winter winds.
And my mind tends...
To wander dangerous paths, I know I shouldn't go.
A monstrous figure, a darkly winding road, past the tombs of what I know.

I listen to the wolves that restlessly hunt the sun. And cry their lust for the moon.
The grey one pays dearly to compose their mysterious tune.
And where there is mystery, it is generally supposed...
Just stay close to me, don't worry... and keep your eyes closed.

Then you won't see the falling of the night.
You won't see the dark ways, the roads that men have shut tight...
And know the lengths I've gone to... to bring you safely here...

But you'll remember in the blood's flow,
What you've thoughtlessly asked me on this road... and you'll know.
I answered... while you travel with me, there is nothing to fear.
