A one of many names used to describe the legendary ominousness Black hounds or wolfs that call the British Isle’ home.Mysteries black dogs have been sighted for a very long time in the England countless variations on the physical details of these black dogs from their size very from a normal hound to the size of a riding horse, other variations on the reported descriptions of these creatures include features like different colors of eyes as well as some more supernatural traits like being accompanied with the sound of rattling chains.Then there is some reported details of the beasts that inspired this drawing in particular. I am talking about the reports pf headless version of the story as well as the occasionally reported detail that some of these black dogs are seen arriving riding on a “carpet” of mist

My take on the creature I settled for a pretty simple final head cannon version.Old shucks are in the same taxonomy as a previous cryptid I posted before the Barguest.I call the group with the Old Shuck is in Hell Hounds or Death Dogs.Old Shucks like other Hell Hounds are born from shadowy spirits released when a war hound is betrayed by it’s Master who sacrifice it to Satan who resurrect the before mentioned spirit. That in the process becomes a undead creature.All hell hounds can be found in Hell(obviously) as well as places like commentaries,dog grave sites,heaths,and moors(only at night). Old Shucks are specifically the spirit of a dog that was strangled or drowned by it’s Master.
The result are headless undead hounds who are black as coal/They are spiritual in nature and as such some what intangible making them hard too be slain by mortal means.
These headless hounds are very dangerous for upon someone hearing the sound made by Old Shucks which sounds like distant steam whistle will find a premature supernatural demise.
Old Shuck can be distinguished from other Hell Hounds by their heedlessness and somewhat ghostly nature as well Old Shucks can manifest their echoing en-tropic energy to form essentially a flying carpet made of opaque mist

Being how I drew a type of the black dog of the British Isles already the Barguest who was one of my earliest post' on here on the Deviantarts.
It just so happens my randomly chosen cryptid to draw after the Black Goat Man was as it was called on the cryptid wiki the Black Shuck.The reason I called this creation Old Shuck was their many names were given on the wiki article,Old Shuck included.
My Spore version of the Old Shuck did not come out the best in my opinion. I could not figure out how to represent the open hallow where it’s head should be that I conveyed in the drawing so once I awhile I am happier with the drawing than the Spore creature
