Description
Designed as a replacement for the aging F-14 Tomcat, the VT-1 Supercat Vectored Thrust Fighter was the last conventional fighter to enter service prior to the discovery of the Solinoid threat. Partnered with the EA-12B Sky-Eye AWACS and the UAV-18 Specter AI Drone, the VT-1 was a multi-role Naval aircraft that would see ship-board and land-based duty in most NATO fleets. The VT-1 was also used as the protoptype test aircraft for technologies in the Variable Geometry Fighter program and would be used to test various systems and equipment for the VGF-14 Wildcat, the very first transformation capable fighter in the UN Fleet. The VT-1 and the VGF-14 share similar lines and flight surfaces as the VT-1 was used as the basis for the VGF-14 which would eventually replace it in front-line duty.
Relegated to Air Guards and Militia duty, the VT-1 continues in use in many countries, though it has been entirely replaced in the UN Fleet by the VGF-14 Wildcat multi-mode Variable Geometry Fighter...
*UPDATE* I wanted the Tomcat lineage to be a bit more readily apparent so I've redone the model as a 2-seat aircraft more in line with the F-14 it is supposed to have replaced...
