Description

The Carlsbad Criminology Museum in Carlsbad, New Mexico, opens up with the Mystery Inc. gang of the Delgadoverse in attendance explaining the history of all of the villains they have unmasked from the past including the Black Knight, Overload, the Skullsatamon Brothers, and Ridley. Unbeknownst to Mystery Inc., the real Ridley is hiding in the museum. Miyuri Akisato meets Peter Parker, a freelance photographer-turned-curator of the museum, to which she is then offered to go on a date with him. A thunderstorm suddenly occurs, causing Ridley to be free from his glass prison. Usopp and Yoshi ty to capture him with a rope but they get caught to Ridley instead, causing a mess in the museum. A mysterious robed, helmeted figure known as Mysterio suddenly appears, revealing to Mystery Inc. that they will be the ones unmasked as the buffoons they truly are. Nena Trinity finds a sword and cuts the rope so Usopp and Yoshi can be free as Mysterio and Ridley steal the costumes of the Black Knight and Overload.

At the ruined museum, Miyuri finds a glowing reptilian scale while Brock Lesnar is having a report with Louise Failevy. The gang heads back to the Mystery Inc. Headquarters in Carlsbad and watch Louise Failevy's report on the ruined museum and took what Brock Lesnar said out of context to his frustration. Usopp and Yoshi want to belong in the gang by acting like real detectives. Once they arrive at the hub, they were figuring out the two suspects of Mysterio: Masayoshi Shido AKA Ridley who presumably died while attempting a prison escape and Dr. Albert W. Wily AKA the Black Knight. They decide that Wily is the key suspect as they head over to Wily Ancestral Manor. Brock rings the doorbell, which tells them to "leave now or pay the price". Usopp explains it to them, to Nena's wonder. Brock calms Usopp down by asking what could possibly happen by ringing the doorbell. They all fell down a chute and were inside a giant metal ball. Nena uses her make-up to disable the DNA thumbprint scanner. Usopp tells everyone to split up and look for clues, to Brock's frustration. Brock, Nena, and Miyuri find a book previously owned by Masayoshi Shido that allows the user to create monsters. Meanwhile, Yoshi finds miscellaneous belongings that aren't clues. On his paw, Usopp finds a note that reads "The Faux Ghost - Tonite", which gives Usopp the conclusion that they finally found a clue. Suddenly, the Black Knight appears and attacks, forcing the Mystery Inc. crew to fight back against him. Miyuri reads from the book and finds out that the Black Knight's weakness is right in the roundtables, before kicking him there. They escape the manor and compared the book to the scale.

Usopp is so excited to go to the Faux Ghost but he and Yoshi can't leave without telling a lie that he has scurvy. Meanwhile, Miyuri is afraid of having a date with Peter. Nena makes Miyuri wear a dark blue tight suit to woo him. At the Faux Ghost that is a club filled with people who have been unmasked by the Delgadoverse Mystery Inc. crew over the years, Usopp and Yoshi place themselves under disguises with false names to avoid being recognized. Usopp talks to Dr. Wily to see if he has anything to do with the mystery. Dr. Wily grabs a bunch of peanuts and threatens to tear the eyes out of Mysteric Inc's skulls and make them eat their own eyes. Yoshi attracts attention by dancing along with the unmasked people. Unfortunately, his wig falls off causing the people to recognize both Usopp and Yoshi and chase them, to which Usopp and Yoshi escape and land in the dumpster. Miyuri, Peter, Brock, and Nena stop by at the destroyed museum and learn that all of the costumes have been taken. Brock has a tough talk with Louise as she tricks him into saying "I think Carlsbad sucks". Nena confronts Louise and wonders if she is Mysterio. Louise says that Miyuri is the smart one, Brock is the leader and that Nena is nothing but a "pretty little face". However, Mysterio suddenly appears on top of the museum and vows to take over Carlsbad.

Usopp and Sanji follow Dr. Wily to an abandoned mining facility. At the facility, they have a run-in with the Skullsatamon Brothers and find a secret laboratory filled with potions. These colorful potions cause them to change shape every time they drink them. After Scooby drinks three of them, he becomes an super-intelligent version of himself as Usopp becomes ultra-strong and Hulk-like. Meanwhile, Brock, Nena, and Miyuri arrive at the same mining facility and find Dr. Wily giving away a pitch for a theme park called the Old Tyme Mining Town. They suspect that Wily is continuing the work of Masayoshi Shido. Wily debunks the theory because they had a rivalry at prison. The crew finds the lab with the arguing Usopp and Yoshi . Yoshi helps to restore each other's forms with his invented potion. Near the room is an entrance to a Monster Hive, where Mysterio converts the costumes into living monsters with Randamonium. Miyrui belives that Peter Parker is the identity of the Mysterio. Usopp and Yoshi mess around with the control panel and inadvertently transform some of the costumes into monsters including Wave Man, the Crimson Head, Cinderblock, and Riot.

The Mystery Inc. gang quickly escape the mining facility with the control panel, avoiding attacks by the monsters such as the Skullsatamon Brothers, Overload, and the Black Knight, before the monsters then invade Carlsbad. The gang decide to go back to their old clubhouse. At the clubhouse, Miyuri, Brock and Nena decide to reverse engineer the control panel so it would convert the monsters back into costumes. Usopp and Yoshi learn that it is best to be themselves and do the right thing as heroes instead of pretending to be detectives. As they spot Wave Man at the lake, the crew use the Mystery Machine escape Wave Man and send him flying across the air and into the lake, before using the Mystery Machine to do a high speed chase towards the mining facility. During the trip, Ridley and the Crimson Head try to halt their progress, but are quickly dealt with. As they arrive at the Mining facility, they are confronted by several of the monsters, including the Black Knight, Cinderblock, Overload, and the Skullsatamon Brothers. Brock decides to do rounds of jousting with the Black Knight on a Honda motorcycle as the gang try to fend off the other monsters. Nena encounters Overload and easily gets shocked. Miyuri easily escapes the SkullSatamon Brothers and Usopp and Yoshi stop Cinderblock with a fire fart. Brock and Nena team up to defeat both the Black Knight and Overload by using a jumper and electric cable, causing Overload to explode and reducing him and the Black Knight to their computer circuit card and helmet.

Inside the monster hive, Miyuri loses her glasses but realizes that Masayoshi Shido made a shrine for himself. There happens to be a photo that shows Masayoshi Shido with Peter Parker as his student. Another photo shows Masayoshi Shido at the museum construction site after his alleged death. Peter finds Miyuri's glasses and gives them back to her. At another room, Usopp and Yoshi encounter the Ice Cream Monster (from Fairly OddBaby), who gets eaten whole by the two. The crew regroup at the Monster Hive as they each hold on to the control panel whilst fighting off the remaining monsters. Riot traps all of them but Scooby with his Symbiote tendrils. With a fire extinguisher, Yoshi manages to stop Riot in his tracks and defeat him alongside Crimson Head, the Skullsatamon Brothers, and Cinderblock. Mysterio becomes worried that his plan will fail now that Yoshi has set up the control panel, converting the monsters into costumes. Mysterio tries to escape, only to fall, leaving the gang to apprehend him.

The crew unmask Mysterio, revealing him to be Louise Failevy. She is revealed to have had an assistant named Aber Lindt, who passed himself off as Mysterio when Louise was busy. Louise is actually revealed to have been Masayoshi Shido, who has survived all along with proof of photos that Miyuri found. Masayoshi Shido is arrested and sent to prison with Aber again. With the day and Carlsbad saved, Yoshi, the gang, and their friends, have a dance-off at the Faux Ghost as Yoshi, Usopp, and Homer Simpson eat the Pizza there all going "Mmm....Pizza!".
