Description

EDIT2023: There was some error with this, I tried to delete the links that no longer resonated, and it erased the whole description where I had this draft from story. Apparently, can't find the most recent edited version of that anywhere.   *inner cringes*

But luckily on Pixiv, I'd still saved an early draft of some of that I gave minor editing, and the key theme is still there. :

'In my fear, and the sudden absence of it I had also forgotten I still had the sword at the ready. And I approached her and it shattered. ' He glanced at Farrvaarh who only blinked. 'It shattered as if there had been some aura about her. At first I didn't realise what had happened. Then, realisation hit and it replayed in my head again, but slower. And it occurred to me there was nothing else to shatter it but energy, pure will that exuded from her. And then she spoke to me and I barely heard her through my shock when my only weapon I had taken such care of was destroyed with a wave of hand.'

'She asked me to calm down. I told her I couldn't continue without a sword, being outlaw and escapee and complained how much care I'd put into that object. And demanded her to repay me, after apologising my rude behaviour. She insisted me I was in such state it could've been a matter of time on who I had used it against that day, even though I told her I had no intention of killing anyone, I had seen enough harm in my farther's place… But she wasn't convinced. Well, she accepted to hand me an object that could help me, but I was determined that be a sword, for nothing else I could think then. She warned me though: I can make it a sword to replace what you lost, though know that it may give you more enemies than you'd hope. Fear brings more fear. This sword though, will not kill or harm anyone who have truth in their heart. It is not the kind of weapon you seek. However, on the folk's and everybody else's eyes it will look just an ordinary sword. And in their hands, well...'

He listened at the breeze making the sunset vibrate like fire. 'I understand now, it wasn't the best thing to ask. She was a goddess, I could probably have asked for anything, even coin or food, or a new home, new start… but I was desperate I couldn't see further than my footsteps. That sword caused me much more harm in a different way than I could ever describe. And I understand now. The true power is in those that dare give up because they see the fight pointless. They don't want to harm each other and there's no point to that, when you can create rather than destroy, when you can mend rather than wound.’

‘And that’s what we should learn, our weaknesses and our strengths have been flipped upside down.’

He managed a smile. ‘We can change that.’

‘We can change that, that’s why we’re here.’
