Summary

In the space between them lay a single feather, seemingly inconsequential to the untrained eye but infused with prayers and protective enchantments by Maeve during the preceding fortnight. It was a token of luck and protection, a small offering from the devoted priestess to accompany Zeke on his journey.
"I know... I know you'll be leaving soon," Maeve began, offering the feather to Zeke with heartfelt sincerity. They spoke of it as a reminder of home, a symbol of his nest always awaiting his return. With gentle gestures, Maeve tucked the feather into Zeke's mane, a silent acknowledgment of the bittersweet goodbye that lingered between them.
