Description Oil on board 30x40 cm. Old house from south Serbia. I have been there for some painters meeting. May not be quite finished, but I already gave it as a gift to my friend, a Serb refugee from Bosnia. The land here is flat, one big plane. It may be that this reminds him of his home.

At one time, it may have been a nice house, with a ceramic tile roof, nice porch railings and arches, etc. What has led these houses to severe deterioration in this area? Economic depression? Agriculture no longer viable? Leftover result of war time?

You are the person who can see it! Beautiful building, beautiful surround, but here is new way of life and all three You mentioned... Results are spectacle of no end for eye and for camera!

Well, in area of this one town there are 80 villages and 40 are deserted, no one comes even for weekend! Same situation is with other towns in this south mountain area. I live on north, in flat area, best soils on the World, situation is not so bad, but, most of my paintings are from my everyday life, and very realistyc. You can bye a big house with big yard for 5000 dolars or less. Some of those old houses are better than houses today. Please, read coments for Mikica, conversation with Tricia!

This is wonderful, it took me two looks and a reading of your artists comments to convince myself it wasn't a picture. The painting is so well defined, and extremely detailed and realistic looking. The details on the tree branches are superb! This is a fabulous deviation!
