I feel likeΒ there could be a story arc for her where the Crystal Gems have to warm her up to the idea that not all humans are just scum on a back water world. Maybe she would occasionally do selfish science experiments that would endanger the town because she wouldn't quite get why she shouldn't risk the safety of the town. Conflict could arise between her loyalties to the homeworld and Earth as a wonderful point of no return.
