Description While Cervitaurs of the Hagia Forest are good swimmers and inhabit both the forest and the ruins buried deep underwater in the Forest River, it can't be easy swimming back and forth from one destination to another, especially with little to no air pockets and much of the underwater forest infested by hungry Piranhas...

I see my commissioner isn't the only person who likes this breed of Mythos.

I mean I knew it was a Centaur but I wouldn’t say it “interests” me.

But do you think Centaurs would actually be able to swim? Cause both horses and humans can swim.

She's actually half woman, half deer, but if those still classify as Centaurs, then... they're centaurs.  Guardians are considered lesser Centaurs in my game idea.  Horses can swim, deer can swim, and elephants can swim.  And I did say that Guardians can swim.  It's just a bit of a stretch to swim the entirety of the underwater segments of the Forest River just to reach the buried ruins that once connected the land of the living to the heavens and back again.

Sounds fair enough.

Still can’t wait for the game to be released.

Well, you'd better get used to that feeling because it's gonna take years, especially if it comes down to being a one-man job.  ...Then again, one man came up with a lot of what made the Touhou series today...

Oh I’ve BEEN used to it.

And you reminded me I made a promise to a friend to play a game from the Touhou Project.

It is multiple games right?

As far as I know, seeing my brother play multiple games.

Oh you have a brother? Never knew that.

We’re getting off topic. Where are you on the game anyway?

Still in the phase of drawing artwork.  That and I think some of my levels need to be redesigned.

Fair enough. And you did say you were going to make it turn based right? If I remember correctly the demo was more Mario Bros-esque.

Yes it was.  I didn't have time to program turn-based elements.  I only had three to four months to put together a playable demo.

Really? What did you use to make it? I sometimes make games with Scratch.mit.edu (it may be basic but it gets the job done) and to make a base turn element, I’d make a number value for the character’s attacking ability and have the game set it to a random value ranging from 1 to usually five or ten after each time you select an attack. Then depending on what the value is after the randomization, each value has an individual attack. Frankly I find it easier than the way you did it but that’s just me.

I used Unity to make my demo.  Unity used to be 3D only until 2D features were added.  I've already come up with some calculations for what you've mentioned, but I have no idea how long it's gonna be before I even use Unity again.  I may have an incentive if I need to get a new demo up should I get a reservation to present at the next Animaine this November.

Perhaps you can work it out in Scratch just as a dummy test.
