The coat of arms for the island nation of Monaghan, a land of grasslands, hillranges and woods...

Monaghan in the local Thracian dialect, the land have also a famous Elven (western dialect as well) title and name - Tir Kystisa, the Land of the Gnomes...

For this land, this pretty island, is inhabited by the Gnomes, who settled it in ancient days, and lives there since, in relative peace - human barbarians and armies who tried to seize it found that the short folk can be efficient at self-defence, and are knowledgeable of magic...

Not much is known of the society, rather insular indeed. They have a quiet, peacefull life it is said, some farming and herding for the ones without serious gift for the Art... The land is divided in a serie of counties, baronies regrouping them, and answering to a King, who is more a speaker and planer than a warrior generally (and allows local levies), all adviced by the Mysidian Council, an union of powerful mages who help the nation to remains independant and free (and also accused to play around the leaders to their own plan..).

The current king is Orlamm the Burgund, of the Ruling Clan, Blackrock,. and his wife, Calanddra of Clan Blimth.
