It's that long bar-like thing that moves back and forth inside the scanner. It's like the lens that reads the picture.
Although I don't really recommend you open it while it's on because there's a really bright light that comes out
You can identify the head as the big bar that extends the width of the scanner and is usually connected to a belt and pulled back and forth on a metal bar that runs the length of the scanner.
