been busy working. trying to get our beta out for the coming GDC (Game Developers Conference) in san francisco. hope fully can turn some heads.
anyway redesign the Eldar dark reapers.
since they carrying heavy weapons, i though it be great to give them additional exo skeleton to help with the weight of the big guns and heavy armor. also thinking it be great if they have the option of using scat lazers too. got rid of the stupid pony tail. and get more skulls!!

Granted the fact that I quite enjoy the original design of the Dark Reapers, I do have to say that this is a quite wonderful recreation of them. I saw that a few people said to make their weapons a bit bone-ified, but I disagree. You don't want to stray away from the Eldar tech too much. I think what it is that I'm enjoying the most in this is that they look more like their founder Maugan Ra, The Harvester of Souls. [link]

yeah maugan-ra is the most badass character in 40k! just look at him!
also he's starting to be the most powerful mary-sue also.
in the new nids codex, maugan-ra single handedly stop an entire hive fleet tendrill.

I love the pop-out scythe, though whats always bugged me about the actual reaper design is their earflaps.

yeah the reaper earflaps is so weird. i wanted to get rid of them. but after i did, he lost the whole reaper feel... and it also grows on me those big dumbo ears.
i'm guessing fluff-wise those things are somekinda sonar detector to help them shoot better.
design-wise, reapers are based off japanese samurai armor. u can see those earflaps on samurai helmets.

I think you could move them to the back of the head and make em point abit upward like: O> . O being the head and > being the reformed flaps.

Good decision on the bone motif, it really helps drive the "reaper" part of the aspect home.
