Description
Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) work in progress!Saw The Hobbit twice in theatres (so far) and loved it (naturally) and was a huge fan of this character, and not just because he turned out to be a surprisingly sexy dwarf (I swear!)
Only been another hour or two since my first WIP post, mainly just adding some rough tones to the lower/back hair to start building depth. Seems appropriate too since he's sorta rough himself.
At this point I honestly have no idea how I want to approach detailing the hair, especially on top where there's going to be a lot of contrasting strands waving together, I think that's probably another reason why I've been putting it off (I usually start more at the top and work my way down for practicality reasons) but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it!
It's also been a while since I drew an older male, and majority of the time I don't draw males at all (it really is easier to draw faces with lots of make up that smooth everything out and give you more defined lines around the features!) so I can only hope this turns out well.
Tools since last post:
Charcoal pencil 3B
Graphite pencil H
Tortillon
Kneaded Eraser (barely)
