Putting aside that I never found Merida's looks to be anything more than cute at best, I also feel like her design didn't suit her at all, at least as far as her face was concerned. They promoted her as being different from the other Disney Princesses (Despite her being every Disney Princess cliche in the book minus being conventionally pretty and having a prince) and being a character that matures and changes. Her face looks like a six-month-old baby on a teenage girl's body. I love how her hair is untamed and that her body is more realistic but her face really make her seem more like a child than a woman. I guess it makes sense for her being such an obnoxious brat but that's not what they were going for. She needed a more mature looking face while still being unique looking. I feel like this look suits her better by showing her more as a woman and not a child.

If you couldn't tell, I despise Merida as a character because she's horribly written, despicable, tried to poison her mother (Yes, POISON! She tried to kill the person her mother was and force her to be a different person without her consent or knowledge of what the cake truly), is selfish, spoiled, bratty, makes a joke about war and others suffering, makes things difficult for her servants but knocking things over or leaving eaten/half-eaten food lying on the floor or just rudely running into them like they're nothing, is more of a damsel in distress than any of the Walt Disney era Disney Princesses (She's constantly having to be saved by her mother and brothers and is overall useless), didn't admit everything was her fault until the end, and wasn't concerned when her mother was feeling ill. She's one of the worst Disney characters EVER! Not to mention her movie is predictable, cliche, poorly written, rushed, cluttered, has an unbalanced and confused tone, has a lot of plot holes, it was advertised as a big epic story but it was just a poor mans Brother Bear and Little Mermaid combination, and is just a mess.
