I loved this comic, but the one thing bugging me at the end was, inexplicably, what exactly what happened after Bruce administered the ‘Vulcan Nerve Pinch’ on Robin? Because I’m weird, I know. And yes, the fact that he even did that at all didn’t bother me quite as much as my sheer pointless musing of what might’ve happened next.
I couldn’t get it out of my head. Given their fond and mutually antagonistic relationship in this book, I wouldn’t put it past Bruce to just leave poor Dick slumped over in the doorway, stepping over him with a snigger. ‘Cos this Bruce can be a bit of an ass (I do love it, though). But no, that would never do! I was definitely craving the whole DaddyBats shebang. So I made up a whole little headcanon where Bruce catches Dick as he falls, feels a bit guilty (as he should, the git), and gently deposits him on the library sofa where they had earlier discussed the case, before he takes off on his own to track down Scarecrow.
I was happy with that for a while. Then I wished I could see it. So I doodled this. This was only a few months ago, when I didn't have a tablet or a scanner. Or even any implements beyond the terrible colouring pencils I’ve owned since I was 6! But it satisfied my urge.
