All their life they tried to do what they believe was right. No matter how hard life decided to push against them, they always pushed right back. They were not scared of work, not scared of relaxing, not scared of the bad things that would happen to them. But a person can only take so much hurt.
Even though they were kind, even though they tried hard to work well with everyone, no one seemed to understand them. They were pushed around, left out, and told they weren't so great. That they never would be great. Told, "You're the worst."
Well if they were the worst good guy then they'd just have to be the best bad guy.
And as the last attack hit them they kept that in mind and shouted "I GIVE UP!"
They were DONE being nice!
They were DONE being helpful!
They were DONE BEING MERCIFUL!
And with that in mind, they began to throw their own tacks.
