It becomes clear at once that there was a reference for this image as its likeness is spot on. Detail is lost as one looks down the picture giving it an appealing quality, and focus to the top half. The aspect of contrast is found though, in both the difference in detail and tone. Her black hair set against her pale skin really brightens the face in comparison. However more effort could have been given to the hair in terms of surface; it seems rugged when it should look smooth. Subtle tones and tints in the face bring it to life only to be brought back to a medium by the tools that made it, which lay beside it. Simpler to how a hunter would mount his gun beside his game as a trophy.
