Description NWR No.1917 'Stafford' is seen here at Suddery Wharf, Suddery, the capital of Sodor, home to the Sodor Times Newspaper Head Office, where they print and write news stories for Sodor. Meanwhile NWR No.13 'Neville' is seen leaving the wharf with wagons of newspapers wrapped in tarpaulin.

Stafford was built in 1917 at the Stoke Railway Works, Staffordshire, England. Before his life on Sodor, Stafford use to work at Thomas Bolton & Sons Ltd. Copper works on the mainland that was until 1926, before Percy arrived as station pilot, Sir Topham Hatt I bought him to see how well he can manage as station pilot and shunter. None of the bigger engines like him, they thought he was too slow despite being battery - electric. Sir Topham Hatt I agreed, much to Stafford's dissapointment. However Sir Topham Hatt I managed to offer Stafford to the Sodor Times and from there on, he was very happy that he became their offical mascot. On his 100th birthday, the Sodor Times had launched a special party for him at their head office for the public to celebrate and had gave out specially made newspaper detailing the history of his life.
