NWR's controller, Sir Stephen Topham Hatt, the Fat Controller was seen at Wellsworth station ready to catch NWR No.4 'Gordon' local to the big station ready for work. Realising that he was a bit behind time, he rushed himself to the station. He then realised that some jam had spread all over him when he was making his breakfast that morning.
