Everywhere I turn there is lies and deceit.
The constant paranoia is hard to defeat.
Who is honest and who is lying?
Who is concerned and who's just prying?
Does anyone actually want to show that they care?
Or is finding out gossip the only reason they're there?

How do you live in a world where you've lost all trust?
Where all is politics or money or lust.
Everybody's shifty, got something to hide.
In stabbing and killing some people take pride.

Keep your friends close but your enemies closer
'Cos you prob'ly can't trust anyone you're s'posed ta.
Rapists and killers, bullies and hoods.
May be sunny but you're never out the woods.
Don't put too much trust in people you know,
And with people you don't, take things very slow.
I'm not dampening your paradise by telling you it's showing.
Trust will never be invested the way this world is going.
