In Dutch we call them lapwing flower, no idea why...I think chess flower is way more fitting.

The full common name is "lapwing-egg flower" because the petals are speckled like the eggs of the Lapwing bird.
I'm a geek botanist...

hij is echt heel mooi en zo te leze is het ook een bijzonder plantje! Zelf heb ik hem denk ik nog nooit gezien, gezien de zeldzaamheid ook vrij logisch. Vind het mooi met de onscherpe achtergrond er zo bij! Hij's zo echt mooi afgebeeld.
