Description
One day in the Crystal Empire Flurry Heart is expected to meet her betrothed. An arraigned marriage agreed by the parents of her future husband and Princess Candace and Shining Armour at a ball in their honour. Candace has taken a notice that her daughter is not happy with the circumstances her father does not seem to care about Flurry Heart's feelings and while in her dressing room, Flurry Heart prepares for the party but is interrupted by Shining Armour who tells her that her betrothed and his family are waiting for her. She sighs and tries to confide in her father that she doesn't really want to attend, revealing how she should love somepony of her own accord and the freedom of who she wants to choose in her own time. Furious, Shining Armour confronts Flurry Heart and learns that she has been sneaking out of The Crystal Empire and into Ponyville dating common stallions to find the right match for her. Flurry Heart tries to learn why she isn't allowed to marry whomever she desires in her own time. Shining Armour however doesn't answer Flurry Heart's questions, forbids her from leaving The Crystal Empire unless she is with an escort at all times. Angry at her father's refusal to answer her questions, Flurry Heart gallops out of her bedroom in tears. Candace then soon arrives and sees Flurry Heart run off. Shining Armour feels awful as he has now made things worse, Candace comforts Shining Armour and tells him that it's time that Flurry Heart finally learned the truth. Realising that Candace is right, Shining Armour agrees and they both go and search for her. However, upset with her father and seeing that she won't get answers by staying home, Flurry Heart spreads her wings and takes off for Canterlot the one place she can get answers. She soon feels a hoof on her shoulder as she slowly turns her head to see Candace and they hug as Flurry Heart feels total comfort in her mother's embrace. "Flurry, it's time you learned the truth why we decided to arrange a marriage for you since you where a mere filly."
