Alone in the jungle, Kion is waiting for his mate, Tiifu, he doesn't know how to tell her that he and Rani fell in love while he was at The Tree of Life healing his scar. He had been away from his family for more than half a year. His cubs had grown so much since he and his Lion Guard had been gone on their journey. When he met Rani and her family, The Night Pride. He'd done so much for the animals who reside at The Tree of Life. He even watched Queen Rani's grandmother; Former Queen Janna complete her journey in The Circle of Life. When Rani nuzzled against his neck as she cried something inside of him sparked, a feeling he had only felt for only Tiifu. He thought he should pull away, but he couldn't. Days after Janna's funeral those feelings Kion felt for Rani only grew stronger and stronger. When Rani asked him to stay Tiifu, Shujaa, and Uzani flashed through his mind. His family in The Pride Lands! He needed to go home and see them. He left and now here he was waiting for Tiifu as he waited to tell her that he was going to end his relationship with her.

"Kion!" Kion's eyes slowly drift up at the familiar voice of Tiifu as she came bounding up toward him. She nuzzled against his familiar soft mane. "When Zuri told me she saw you I didn't believe her at first but after convincing me that she did I had to see you right away. She purred as she continued to rub her head against Kion's soft mane. After a few moments Kion pulled away Tiifu seemed shocked at Kion's strange behavior. "How are Shujaa and Uzani doing…?" His voice sounded distant as he was avoiding her gaze. "They're both fine. Vitani and a few other former Outsider Lionesses have been helping with their training for the new Lion Guard. Kion… Did something happen when you were away from home?" There it was… The question he'd been dreading that Tiifu would ask. "Yes… Yes, Tiifu… Something did happen while I was at The Tree of Life. I-I fell in love with the Queen who reigns over the great…"

He finally gains up enough courage to look Tiifu in the eyes and she is staring back at him shock straight in her face. "W-What…? You've fallen in l-love… with another lionesses…?! The tears started to leak from her green eyes as she lets out a snarl. "KION, HOW COULD YOU?! HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT US, OUR CUBS, YOUR FAMILY?! WHAT DOES THIS "ROYAL LIONESS" HAVE THAT I DON'T WHAT, KION, WHAT?!" Kion rounded on Tiifu baring his teeth and snarling as well. "HER NAME IS RANI AND SHE'S VERY SPECIAL TO ME! SHE AND I HAVE SHARED COMMON INTRESTS FOR MONTHS I COULDN'T UP AND LEAVE WHEN HER FAMILY WAS IN TROUBLE! I HAD TO STAY WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO?!" Kion was afraid of this he had hurt his first love and she was staring at him with a mixture of anger and sadness in her eyes. She shook her head disgusted with Kion. "What's happened to you? You're not the Kion I knew before you left." Tears rolled down her cheeks. Kion looked away "I-I can't do this right now… I need to see my parents." He started to turn his back on Tiifu leaving her looking after him stunned. Little did she know a pair of orange eyes was looking at her through the trees. As soon as Kion was gone the darker cream colored lioness cub with a small tuft of fur sticking up from her head just like her mother looked at Tiifu with sadness. "Mom…?" Tiifu looked in her direction shocked. Had she heard the entire fight? "Uzani…"
