Description
This poptart was the meanest little thing to ever be pulled out of a barn, switchblades drawn. He was also the only one of his litter of six to survive parvo and predator, but not without spending a week at the vet's office hooked up to the world's tiniest IV drip. He's now 8 months old and whines when I'm not where he can see me.UPDATE: He is turning one year old in June and we've named him "Sid Fishes" Cheesy, I know, but it was fitting. For the first couple of months, he slept in my hair and woke me up trying to nurse on my ear. He's adjusted a bit and now sleeps at my feet, but still demands to be picked up and hugged whenever I come through the front door. We chase each other through the house until we both pant and he still fights dirty.
UPDATE II: Sid is a couple of months shy of two years now and just got his very own puppy to play with. He lives the happy life of a slightly chubby house cat and spends his days currently running mad dashes around my house with the puppy. Sometimes they even still let me play.

I hear that! My brother left our father to live with my grandmother and I, and he brought his kitten with him. The kitty didn't trust anybody at first until he realized I wasn't going to hurt him and I fed him, pet him, changed his litter, etc....and then he attached himself to me like a leech. Everywhere I was, he had to be on my lap or close by. Dinner table, computer, bed, etc. lol. It was frustrating, but I loved that cat! Glad yours is doing well!

Thanks! Yeah, this was the day he was pulled from the barn. We didn't really want to separate them from the mom, but two had already died and the mother was very feral.

I understand that - it's always sad when kittens or puppies have to be separated from their parents . But on the other hand, one person can't take all the feral cats/dogs in, even if we want to. So we have to make choices. He'd drow up anyway, with or without your help. But ... if he had to grow up outside, you never know whether he had survived and what kind of life he had. Since feral life isn't a happy one, at least now he's with you and having a good life. Separation from his mother was the price but the reward - the good life - is well worth it

Wow, he's so cute. It's funny how boy cats are more cuddly than the girl ones. At least Seppy didn't/doesn't sleep in my hair, though he does love annoying me by scratching at my door to be let in when I'm trying to sleep.

I thought he was over it - finally, but this morning I tried to sleep in and he climbed in my hair and made himself at home. Geez. Maybe he was weened too early.
