Acadia Laveau grew up poor. Her parents scrimped and saved every penny they could and it wasn't enough. At the age of six her father died from pneumonia and her mother died shortly after that, so bogged down by grief that she starved.

Acadia however was taken and forced to move in with her aunt, a fortune teller, who was rich due to ripping off the people who came to her, in New Orleans, LA. Her aunt was not a nice person and beat Acadia daily, however she also trained the child in the darker sides of voodoo. Acadia learned quick that power and money was all that mattered and when she learned all she could from her aunt, she killed her and turned her dear aunt into a faithful zombie minion. The first of many.

Soon her influence spread. People came to fear and respect Acadia, now the crime boss Loa. Her corrupt magics breaking down any opposition to her and her faithful followers.
