Ah, yeah. They found out later that the reason for that is because he and Meggan were gone from the British Isles for too long and it was affecting their abilities. He was slumping into depression because of it, and she was loosing control of her ability to shapeshift.

One of the things I loved about her in early Excalibur was that Alan Davis always drew her as looking super toned and athletic (I'm not sure what DArt's rules are for putting links to pictures in comments, but Google the cover of Excalibur 42 for a perfect example). Admittedly, that was because she'd been "perfected" in Spiral's Body Shoppe(tm) and not because she actually worked out, but she was the first superheroine I could remember as a kid who looked athletic instead of just looking like a model (or, in the case of more "serious" artists like Bill Sienkiewicz, like a normal person you might pass on the street).

I always saw Rachel as a thin and toned, as she appeared in the x-comics before she joined Excalibur. I love Alan Davis' work on the series so I may try to fit her in his style
