Description
Legend tells of a house, surrounded by cheesey story cliches, like being hidden in the woods and all that jazz. This house, hidden within the woods, is said to be haunted by a ghost or possibly possessed by a demon or possibly sentient or possibly belonging to a witch or possibly is a recovering alcoholic that just wants to settle down somewhere with a lovely family of house sparrows and then eventually TAKE OVER THE WORLD!......
Ok well this house is said to be forever filling the world with laughter, never ending except for when it finds a new victims. These victims are typically girls, poor lost girls (that might be independent AND DON'T NEED NO MAN!). These poor souls that get trapped in it's (metaphorical) clutches (or maybe not metaphorical... It could have hands hidden underneath it for all I know!) are never seen again. I would say never heard from again... but I'm sure you've all figured out the source of the laughter by now!
Current Chapter Release Log
v2.1.2 - Some people were still getting the missing sprite glitch, so I've gone through the ENTIRE game and rebound EVERY LAST SINGLE ODIN DAMN SPRITE in the game! Hopefully, this will be the last we hear of this fucking glitch!
v2.1.1 - Forgot to rebind the sprite in the basement! Sorry guys, the fix was done at about 6am XD
v2.1 - Ok so for some reason the game unbound the sprites for Nadie and Arieta... No freaking idea why, but I've fixed it. So here's hoping it doesn't do it again!
v2.0 - The Second Chapter has begun!
The game is currently at Chapter 2

Oh wow, proper ancient. You might have trouble getting it to run. I know what I'm doing with these things and it took even me a of tinkering just to get a game running.

I wouldn't; it'll likely be more hassle than it's worth. You're better off with VX, VX ACE or MV. 95 to 2003 don't play nicely with modern computers, XP was infamously tempermental even with the computers it was designed for.

I'm curious, have you considered making an in-browser version of this, like what Brewed-War has done with Who Hunts Monsters? I'm a tablet user, and I'm sure a lot of others would love to be able to try this out.

After playing the game.
I found frustration and yet some hint of enjoyment in the puzzles. My main complaint would be is some puzzles was easy while some was unfair. There was no inbetween.
I didn't exactly enjoy the games humor and bits of the dialogue was less than desirable. The games level designs didn't feel unique nor interesting.
However it still had some moments. I loved that you can literally complete the game by not entering the house, that made me laugh.

Thanks ever so much for your feedback, it's rare anyone bothers doing that so it is greatly appreciated.
Yeah, I wasn't too happy with the spike myself. But I left it unchanged because it at least got most people attempt to engage their brain for more than just using a hand down there.
I get ya, it's kinda hard to make something seem unique when it's set in a house... Which was part of what I was going for as this was designed as a sort of parody to the "JRPG Horror" style of RPG games.
Not every player really wants to go in to a spooky old mansion

You are welcome mate.
And I do look forward to more episodes because like I said, it did have it's charms and I am interested to see where the story would go. I do agree that puzzles are a must and I am not criticizing you for adding them, infact they are greatly appreciated. Because I did go in the game with the cynical mindset that I'd just walk on in to tickle situations for a masturbationfest.
But I was pleasantly surprised to see more effort put into things that forced me to think. However like I said, I did find a few of them to easy. But some of the chase sequences was fun.
And I can understand you're influenced by certain themes. And I for one ain't seen much of a "JRPG horror" so I can't tell you what you're doing is right or wrong. But from a level design ideal?
I'd like to see some rooms more fleshed out if possible.
However if it's not possible then that's fine. I'd just like to see more fleshed out area's to give the house a sense of life.
But besides that. I am interested to see more. The game had it's faults? yeah but I always have hope for improvements when the developer takes on opinions. So thanks for taking the time to read. >w<

Bugger me this is an old one. Phone just beeped me about this, but according to the computer it's from back in February!
I'm glad you do and I did look forward to making more... But developments with my health have made working on games incredibly taxing for me, so I don't think I'll ever get around to finishing it shamefully.
I didn't take it as a negative, I was just stating my reasons for them. Most games from this odd little sub-genre of ours are even battle driven or entirely narrative. I wanted mine to at least have something of it's own.
Yeah, I didn't want my game to be just that. I wanted to at least get something for myself out of making the game, so I figured I'd experiment a bit.
I'm glad they did. I wanted the first few puzzles to be a little easier, get folks accustomed. Though it still led to an insane amount of people not getting the hints with the switch puzzle.
There's a bunch out there and they're one of the more popular avenues for the RPG maker engines (strangely enough).
I was actually working on a level that was basically an entire forest for the next chapter. Unfortunately, it all being within a house made things a little tighter with design to begin with; didn't want no euclidian space nonsense going on right at the start.
You're welcome and thanks for taking the time to comment! It's a shame more folks don't

Oh damn man.
Sorry to hear about that, it is a shame that it won't be continued but hey life has gotta take priority.
Sorry if this comment comes off as no meat on the bones but this comment thread was back in Feb and I honestly don't have a lot of recollection. The game still had it's charms though despite a few things and it is a shame you can't continue it.
But anyway best of luck mate and I hope all goes well for you.

It may be continued some day, but I doubt I'll be able to commit to it within the immediate future. I struggle enough to focus on my other hobbies as is sometimes.
That's alright, I'm sorry it took so long to get to it. Glad you enjoyed it none the less and thanks
