It's hard to say what exactly Zviad was supposed to be when he came to be. Originally he was just that round ball-like form with a pair of eyes and an oversized mouth. Immediately he understood that he could gain mass by taking the life force and matter from living things around him. Plants and small animals were his target as he grew. Eyes, mouths, and limb like entities came from his body as he crawled around, trying to find any sort of purpose beyond survival. Most ran from him and his still immature mind did not understand why. It took him a bit to learn to float but not long after he came across an older human who did not fear him. This older human would eventually take him in and help his mind settle off of survival, nicknaming him 'the one who crawls' at first.

As he came to understand his own being more and more, his shape became less and less wild. In fact, his magical power started to grow exponentially and it was easier to control the mass he had gained to create more complex limbs, shapes, and even magics. The more time he spent with the eldery man, the more humanlike his appearance became. Zviad didn't abandon his wild shape there but preferred to be like the only person who helped him. Come the man's passing, he would not only take his home (as it felt safe to him) but also an eerily similar appearance. It is easier to understand the complexities of the human body with a corpse after all.

Overall his true form inspo came from a ghastly and just horror stuff in general. I wanted him to be a terrible looking demon with teeth, mouths, eyes, a few off putting limbs, etc everywhere that could also float. Obviously I simplified him quite a bit. Given the chance, he will become a horror out of your nightmares with glowing green eyes to match.
