Description
This is sort of the start of Cream's Nightmare, though there is a scene or two before it.

As the world broke apart, Cream and Cheese found themselves falling into the unknown abyss. A few miles from home. They were visiting a Chao Festival when there was a massive earthquake.
When they woke up, they found themselves admitted to a clinic in Spangonia with virtually no injuries. Following a call from a frantic Vanilla, Cream found unsettling news of the global predicament at hand, but the fact she and her trusty Chao are all right at least eased the fearful burden from her mother's chest.
Now waiting for a few days until her arrival, they are now left to explore the town while the doctors take care of them, as well as any other persons hurt or whisked away from their homes. However, there was a warning not to stay out too long because of some "strange creatures" appearing at night.
Unfortunately, they ended up running into a scary looking monster they followed in morbid curiosity, but this creature seems to have the same curiosity and has yet to attack them.
Little did Cream knew that this would be the start of an... interesting adventure.
