i'm not sure with firealpaca since i've only used it on the mac for a short time but i think it accepts psd files! otherwise the gif one should be okay, not sure though

ahh its okay! I made this in sai myself and i basically use psd files on sai and it works perfectly fine! And whenever you color it just put the icon on multiply and then create a new layer and color it! When it comes to the animation part im used to having Gimp ´w` I use it aswell whenever i want transparent backgrounds on my images and it works perfectly fine!

ahhh i see! so i have to make a new layer on top of each of the line layers then colour it in (on multiply ofc)?
ive never done anything like this so its a little confusing ;;

and id have to download GIMP, right?

ahh correct! well you can put the coloring layer on clipping source so it doesn't go outside the whole icon! And you don't have to download gimp since theres online gif makers but thats just my small recommendation, but gimp supports psd files too so you can otherwise use gimp to color it! Both ways works just fine!!

Of course! I'm working on it in MS Paint ATM and it seems to be working well. Once it's complete, I will tag you in it so you can see how it came out and such!
I personally don't know how to make images transparent in MS Paint, do you know perhaps? I know how to do so in other programs - I apologize if this question comes off as quite silly! XD

ahhh no its okay!! Paint is really fun to use in my opinion but if im making animated things or images with transparent backgrounds i usually go with gimp! 
I've used it ever since i was about 8 or so and since then it's been the best one i've had! I mean yeah sure photoshop is great aswell and i know how it workes although i've never really been that into it. I prefer Gimp and Paint tool sai more ´w`
