Description
This was an effect I did for FT.com. Dan Aykroyd played a plastic surgeon who used the wrong materials and so this poor woman's facelift just fell. They wanted her to go from smooth to wrinkles in one second. I build a fiberglass cap and rigged it with cables that I attached to the actresses face. I did a fashion makeup on her with her skin stretched and when all the cables were pushed down her face just fell. It was really weird to see and got an ovation from the crew (very rare for me hehe) (Sorry for the terrible photos, different lighting and such, but you get the idea)Related content

Thank you very much, it was one of the most difficult days i've had on set. 5 hours putting the FX and doing the corrective makeup... all for less than 20 seconds of shoot time LOL

ok -- so you mean she naturally looked like the person with the fallen face, and you just stretched her face to make it look good, then let it go -- right?
pretty funny.
brilliant idea.

pretty much, tho with the push cables, i was able to make her even more wrinkly then she normally was too

well, I must admit, you are a very insane and creative person. That lady was a very good sport to let her natural age be the end result of a before and after reversed. I'm sure she was recompensed well also.
Good luck in 2009. Have fun in your chosen profession. I'll have fun in my chosen hobby. i'm older, so I get to play around in mud and not get paid.

That's amazing. I wonder if it freaked out the actress. I think I could not handle seeing myself age 100 years in five seconds flat!

She actually loved it, I picked her because she had great wrinkles. She said it was fun seeing what a face lift might look like

that's what my mom used to say when I would make a mess of the house... well, not first, she would have other things to say before that hehe

it really did look amazing, mostly because the actress was great, she would hold herself one way and then let everything droop, it was fantastic to see
