Description "Plants" on Biompheipmos evolved down a different path to those on Earth. Their distinct purple/red leaves come from a unique pigmentation that is simpler than chlorophyll but still produces oxygen as a byproduct of photosynthesis. A form of retinal pigment that is more advanced than the ones on earth and not only tolerates but produces oxygen. It absorbs yellow-green light and reflects red and blue lightwaves, which gives them their distinctive purple colours.
While the similarities to some simple earth flora may give the impression that these plants are primitive and ancient, many of them posses flowering and even fruiting bodies which makes them much more advance than at first glance.
Displayed here are some of the larger varieties of common tree like flora found on the planet with a human and a dayju in the right corner for scale.

I'm not really a plant person, so for this project I spent months looking at plants around me, my house, my neighborhood, trying to understand and draw them. I made two versions of the evolutionary chart of plants, but I'm not too happy with wither of them to share. I hope to make more plants and stuff in the future, as I ought to improve on that for future pieces.
