I'awa is the god in the monotheistic azdov faith known as I'awaism. Prior to azdov expansion across the galaxy ,I'awaism had pretty much already become the defacto religion of the entire azdov species (much to the dismay of religious minorities).

I'awaism is key to the ideology that the Azdov Empire uses to justify it's xenophobic destruction of alien civilizations that azdoves don't find visually pleasing. The story goes that I'awa made mistakes when he created the universe and he made azdoves in his image to eliminate his mistakes.

This picture is is only one of many interpretations of I'awa, but what tends to be consistent is that he is portrayed as male and as having a combination of "ear" types and fur colors. Ancient versions of the god were depicted as him being of red or orange fur color in reflection of the Cheisani/Chesami/Chesmiyan ethnic groups that first worshipped him. His appearance was made to reflect azdovity as a whole as non-chesmiyans converted. The birthmark on his chest is in the shape of the symbol of the I'awaist faith.
