Description

I came up with a story idea, but I've yet to write it. So the story is this:

These small creatures, which are manifestations of negative emotions, choose human hosts to be reborn as a more powerful 'demon', if you put it that way. They are drawn to elf boys more often, since the elves are always upset about something, especially the boys. There is protection against them, but the little things are quite sneaky. They go into their future mother's mouths while they sleep, enter the womb (or create one and enter it), and make the mother a lot calmer, and basically convince them that they are a real baby, not an evil creature. But you can tell by coming in on the mother when they're sleeping, since the belly becomes transparent and reveals the creature inside for a few seconds until it sees you.

They go after specific hosts, hosts that are experiencing a strong negative emotion, but denying that emotion. This boy, specifically, is denying grief, so he was a shining target for the creatures.

It's pretty impossible to have any more than two creatures. It's extremely rare for twins, unless you are denying two emotions that are just as strong as each other. Or the creature accidentally splits in two and regenerates it's other half. Or two fly in at the same time.

The pregnancy is basically just like a normal one, it just raises up maternal instinct just a tad bit more than normal, but that is just dismissed as being an overprotective parent. The babies also just end up developing more pointy ears and sharper teeth, which isn't too uncommon in elf kids.
