1.) Somnambula parents Nerfetari and Khafra, they’re both loving and wonderful sphinxes who I had fun designing.

Sunset had imagined her reunion with her fathers many times, she’d anticipated anger, maybe malice over what she’d done. She never thought she’d be welcomed back with open arms and tears of joy. Returning back to Equestria was difficult, her relationship with Celestia was complicated to say the least. Whilst the princess and her had exchanged apologies, she didn’t really feel like it anything. The bridge between them was burned to a crisp, at best, all they could do was try to move forward. Now, here she stood before her childhood home, fist raised to knock. How Sunburst had convinced her to do this, she’d never know.

The door opened to reveal her father, Sundance, his mouth hung open upon seeing her, “S-Sunset?”

“Hey pops,” she greeted, “long time no see”

Another voice came from behind him, equally as confused “Darling who’s at the-Sunset!?!” Her father, Firefly, rushed for a hug, bringing Sundance in as well. They cried tears of happiness at the return of their daughter.

In a previous post I designed Sunset and Sunburst’s parents, Firefly and Sundance. After Sunset goes through the mirror, Celestia informs her family what happened. They are, obviously, upset and confused, with Sundance yelling at Celestia, quoting her on the promises she made to keep their daughter safe. Celestia does try to help them, she offers to teach Sunburst as well, but her offer is rejected.

When Sunset Shimmer does return, she and Celestia’s relationship is to say, damaged. Sunset decides not to pursue fixing it, instead opting to leave that for another day. She reunites with her brother Sunburst, who convinces her to reunite with their parents as well, ‘They miss you Sunset, I know you’re scared they might hate you. Trust me they won’t. Please for Celestia’s sake, go see them’

“Sable Spirit, it’s me Mistmane, you’re friend”

“Lies!” Sable Spirit hissed, mane twisting into flames, “You’re no friend of mine! You’re here to take my power away!”

“No, I’m here to help. The magic is too much, it’s corrupting your mind” Mistmane pleaded.

“This magic is mine, I won’t have you or anyone else take it away from me!”

As a Draconequus, Sable Spirit was the spirit of Famine and misery, because of this, her magic was tied to fire, hence her flaming mane. Draconequus magic in itself is vastly powerful, Sable Spirit wasn’t born with a relatively normal amount of magic, as a draconequus that magic was amplified. Something she wasn’t prepared for, as a result, it corrupted and twisted her mind. Here she faces her old friend Mistmane, who she can’t quite remember.
