In Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation, Venus' adoptive father Chung I a master of the Shinobi mystic arts. ("Shinobi" is another word for "ninja", but apparently it's the name of a clan of Chinese mystics in the series.) And taught his adopted daughter Venus the ways of the Shinobi arts.

In my TMNT universe , Chung I and Venus aren't called Shinobis, instead they're just referred to as mystics.

While in my Crossover Universe , I'm thinking that he was one of the Ancient One's students and learned the mystic arts in Kamar-Taj. And he taught Venus those same arts.
