I have this idea for 's Hasbroverse. Sometime after the events of the G1 cartoon (probably after the Williams kids left Ponyland for good), the Witches (Hydia, Reeka, and Draggle) try to concoct the Smooze again to try to attack the more united Ponyland.

But something gone wrong with the ingredients (probably thanks to Draggle's clumsiness), and it ended up looking like this:

Minus the hat and tie.

It was smaller and lacked malice, and eyes for that matter. Instead it slithered toward the witches to hug and kiss them.

Hydia starts throwing a hissy fit for this mess-up, blaming her daughters for it. But then she noticed how it gotten bigger when it absorbed the shiny objects in the room, which gave her an idea on how to attack Ponyland. By having it absorb as many shiny things it could get its slimy hands on, while it gets bigger.

Twilight, Applejack, Firefly, Surprise, Sparkler, and Posey, the new bearers of the Rainbow of Light, use it to stop it. Instead of destroying it, the Rainbow of Light revert it back to its original size, while also turning it green and mostly harmless, due to its incomplete creation.
