If the original X-Men movie trilogy (X-Men, X2: X-Men United, and X-Men: The Last Stand) happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Though I'm thinking of having the third movie happen differently. Where Cyclops survives and ends up being the one who has to kill Jean Grey, based on an early script. When Cyclops is able to get through to her, Jean begs him to kill her cause she can't control the Dark Phoenix any longer. But he can't go through with it, so Jean uses her telekinetic powers to hold him still and pull his visors out. He closes his eyes, pleading Jean not to make him do it. Jean telekinetically forced his eyelids open, and tells him she loves him. Jean and the Phoenix were killed by his optic blast. Wolverine looks on as Cyclops holds her singed body, reminiscent of the cover of The Uncanny X-Men #136 (1980). The sequel probably would have had him starting a relationship with Emma Frost until Jean Grey is brought back from the dead

Or perhaps keep the movie way it is, and after that anything goes. They would have continuing making movies in the original timeline post-The Land Stand. They probably would have Scott and Jean revived somehow by Mr. Sinister who plans to use their genealogy for his master Apocalypse, and also created Cable from Scott and Jean's DNA.

As for the other X-Men movies, I haven't quite figured out how they'll go, due to the confusing timelines. At least the original trilogy kept things simple.

I might have to make a timeline of how they would fit with the MCU. I would also have to change or shift some events from the post-trilogy movies around, but I'll wait until Dark Phoenix is out to know more.

Though I go with the mutants were publicly known at turn of the New Millennium, as stated in the first movie. But many mutants already existed throughout history, and have been hiding quite well.

Logan and Victor battled alongside Captain America, and briefly joined the Howling Commandos .

The Sokovia Accords is a predecessor of the Mutant Registration Act that's mentioned a lot in the X-Men movies.
