"Raphael Rocks" by Caliosidhe

This was a nostalgic drawing for me.

One, Raph's a Ninja turtle. What I drew almost exclusively when I first started drawing. For this, I just sketched directly onto the bristol with a regular #2 pencil and inked over that. Aaaaahhh!!! No nonphotoblue! No light table for inking...!! And just a random type drawing where I don't think it out ahead of time.. I start with an eye..then do another eye..then another.. And add more body parts til I run out of paper, lol..

Prior to my discovery of markers three years ago, all I used were color pencils. I dropped the color pencils once I realized that Markers were cleaner, faster, no sharpening, lasted longer and I got away with my hand hurting less. Still... When a guest unwittingly unearthed my old color pencil box.. I got the urge to try. Especially since I needed a contest entry anyway ^^

...Then I realized I was so out of practice it's pathetic. Still, I'm happy it came out this good, muddyness and all. I started remembering how to use pencils about 75% of the way through, so hopefully I'll not wait for long before trying them again.
