Another exercise in Turtle-based character design! This time, I'm doing designs for a Teen Titans Go-type take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Though it's tone would be less "cynical slapstick satire comedy" and more "light hearted wholesomeness". And when things do get serious, it's not so much "dark" serious, but more "contemplative" serious.
But enough about tone; what about the characters?
Well, for starters, I decided to do a big sacrilege and make Michelangelo the Leader of this version of the Turtles (like I made Donatello the Leader in the previous exercise). So while Michelangelo is still a fun loving goofball, giving him the position of leader would make for an interesting tale indeed. Leonardo on the other hand, has become the "strong and silent type" with an improbable amount of skill. Basically, he's Ice Bear, but quieter and more intimidating. Raphael is back to being the "cool, but crude" dude with attitude from the 80s, and has become more laid back and jokey, taking on some of Mikey's more well known traits. Donatello, while still the tech whizz and genius, has donned the personality type of the "shrinking violet". He's very nervous, and so far the weakest in terms of combat ability by far. Master Splinter is... generally unchanged. Why fix what ain't broken?
