At the crack of dawn, which is about 5:30 AM, the next day I ate a big breakfast, said my last good bye and final hug to Dr. Kooperley and set out into the the world.
"Ok," Koopster said inside my brain, "the friend that I can detect as of now seems to be located in Ancient Valley Ruins..."
"Which is located in between Boo Woods and Chilly Mountain Range," I interrupted while pulling out the map of the Mushroom Kingdom that BK gave me from my right pocket of my cargo pants and unfolding it. "Which is also situated on the outskirts of Flyguy Village."
"That's right," Koopster confirmed as I brushed off some weird glances from the other citizens of Toad Town."And since Toad Town is in the West and Flyguy Village is in the East we would have to cross Shyguy River and Paratroopa Plains. So it's a straight shot, this is gonna be too easy."
"It would be too easy," I corrected as I put the map away from marking the location of one of Koopster's other friends."only if the Flyguys were not getting very territorial and will not welcome any guests into their village."
"Really now?" The koopa asked in my head and I could imagine his eyebrow rise.
"Yeah, news sources don't have the foggiest idea what's going on but let me guess, Shade?"
"Yep, some of Shade's monsters probably invaded the peaceful village and caused a fright."
"What DO these monsters look like anyway?" I asked as I got to the edge of town, and as if on schedule a black blob-like creature, which looked like a pitch black version of a goomba with arms, wobbled its way into view.
"That," Koopster pointed out," is a Shadow, they are the most basic of the basic minions of Shade's army. They are not too tough a few solid whacks of your sword and or your mallet will be able to finish it off, you can also use me to shoot magic at it, it will get more complicated when elemental weaknesses and resistances but I'll get to that when I get to that. Now you better take care of that thing out before it can do anything."
"You're right." I said as I unsheathed my sword form its sheath on my back. And Koopster was right after two solid hits from my sword was able to disintegrate it, it was my first insistence of combat and I did not know what to feel, because I don't generally like to hurt anything but since these things were trying to destroy the world I had to hurt them and the thought about fire, water, lightning and ice being used as a weapon on enemies was intrigued me.
