Description
Just like with the applebucking Thunder Spark was very hesitant on flying at first but after he overcame his shyness he wanted to learn so much, almost to the extent of tiring the teacher.
"Whoa there Thunder," Rainbow Dash said landing right next to the grey alicorn, they just flew through some cloud rings above the apple orchard, which was permitted by AppleJack as long as they did not breack anything, and Thunder was going pretty fast. "don't tire yourself out now because you've got magic practice with Twi and Rare later on."
"Ok, I'll cool down, I'm just excited to start using these things." Thunder Spark said lifting his wings.
"Of course, who wouldn't be, now Soarin' is going to run you through some wing stretches and going to take you through a longer distance fly that goes from here to Fluttershy's cottage and back. Now take it slow and remember don't tire yourself out ok." Dash said looking at the alicorn foal, which he nodded in agreement to. "Alright, Soarin' dear can you take Thunder Spark on the old loop around."
"Sure thing Dash." Soarin' said walking up to the colt. "You ready?"
"Yeah." the foal said enthusiastically, than he turned to Fluttershy who was watching from underneath an apple tree. "Do you want to come with Fluttershy?"
"Huh," the yellow pegasus asked as if she'd woke up from a dream, "oh s.sure thing Thunder Spark." she continued as she got up and trotted to the two colts. "Ok, I'm ready. Let's go...o.of course if that's alright with you."
As the three lifted off toward the north Soarin' smiled to himself. "She's so considerate." he thought, "No wonder Big Macintosh fell head over hooves for her." he silently chuckled remembering how the red work stallion called the shy mare "the kindest and most beautiful mare in all of Euestria" and the hushed "aww"s everypony, except Scootaloo, shared.
Meanwhile back on the ground Big Mac was busy doing the chores as usual until AppleJack stopped him in his tracks. "Hey thar big brother," she said. "ah gotta ask yah a question."
"And what would that be?" he asked back raising an eyebrow.
"It's about Fluttershy." AJ said slyly.
"F.fluttershy?" he said gulping.
"Yup, ah just want to know. Do yah like her?"
"Uh...nope." Big Mac said with his muzzle starting to scrunch up.
"Big Mac, yah do know we Apples were always bad at lyin' right?"
"Eeyup." he sighed waiting the worse.
"Well, ah just want tah say that ah'm.." AppleJack dramatically paused. "that ah'm happy yah found some filly yah like, congratulations Big Mac. Now, when yah goin' tah ask her out?" the farm filly asked putting both hooves on her temples and leaning against the cart full of apples from the east field.
"Haven't really thought of that yet."
"Than do it tahday," AJ said walking to her brother. "after Thunder Spark's lessons. Ah now she doesn't really like those fancy shmancy stuff so take her on picnic, under Luna's moon, out in the fresh air, probably under a tree. It's goin' tah so romantic."
"Ah guess yer right." the red stallion said, just thinking about it made his heart soar. "Well, ah got to git these chores done fer later tahday." he continued as he sped off.
"What were you and Mac talking about AJ?" Caramel asked the orange mare with two baskets of apples on his back.
"Makin' a match Caramel, makin' a match." was all the farm filly said.
After lunch at the farmhouse Big Macintosh walked Thunder Spark to the Ponyville library while Fluttershy went back to her cottage to take care of some of the critters. When the two colts go to the tree-library Twilight and Rarity were waiting, while the unicorns were levitating various objects like a feather to a small book the work stallion watched from a distance, once in a while Thunder would ask him to come over and see what he was doing and he would follow. The red farm worker could not help but smile at how the alicorn colt was growing up so fast.
And when Fluttershy came to pick up Thunder Spark Big Mac asked her aside.
"Y.yes Bug Macintosh?" the yellow pegasus asked.
"Ah..uh..just want tah ask if ah could...um...ask you out to a date." he said with his coat by his cheeks a lighter shade of red than usual.
"S.s.sure," Fluttershy responded surprised by the question. "but, who's going to take care of Thunder Spark?"
"Oh that's right. How could ah forgit, uh we could..." he started but was interrupted by Twilight saying.
"Let me take care of the little alicorn, I could get the other girls and maybe the boys in as well. So don't worry about Thunder."
"A.are you sure, you don't have to if you don't want to" Fluttershy said.
"It's for a friend and love." when the purple unicorn said that statement the shy mare and work stallion both blushed. "So it's no hassle. You to have a good time."
"Well, thank yah kindly Twilight." Big Mac said turning toward Fluttershy, "I'll pick you up at 6 PM, yah don't need to dress fancy or anythang all it is is just a picnic under Luna's moon."
"O.ok," the yellow pegasus said smiling "I'm looking forward for it."
"Well see yah tahnight Fluttershy." Big Macintosh said as the shy mare and the alicorn foal headed north to the outskirts of town.
