Description I made some quick progress on this Plunger Monkey render experiment. Not done yet, but I’m getting more comfortable with this new process, and therefore faster at it. I’m also identifying areas that I can streamline and make even faster (for example, there is a consistent layer structure, layer name and blend mode structure, that I can capture as an “auto-action”. Instead of a couple dozen clicks and menus and name changes, I can record it once and then apply it with a single click every time I start a new illustration).

I’ve also created some happy accident texture brushes I’m messing around with from time to time. There are so many cool possibilities for such things. I’ve got an ever growing list of things to try out and experiment with, as well as specific types of brushes I want to make, all of which will speed up my process (and if I come up with some extra cool brushes and textures, I can put together brush and texture packs to sell to other artists…). If you want to see an image of some of those experiments, check out the Toby’s Brain FB page or toby_m_gray on Instagram.
