My tribute to both Bayonetta games since they're SO GOOD.So this took.....over a year to finish. I started this picture last summer after I beat both Bayonetta games and didn't get to finish it until now. You can literally see the style change as you scroll down, haha.
The top half (Bayonetta and top hourglass) was done last year with a small portion of the hourglass done early this year. The bottom portion and the hourglass itself was completed within a span of a month. So I guess the life lesson here is: don't procrastinate and your stuff might end up not looking like crap.

FIRST COMMENT RIGHT
To start off, this is some really nice, carefully thought out painting with lots of sweat, blood, and tears poured into those details. I also can't believe you pulled off the background (I'm so glad you didn't learn to quit like someoneeee) but it turned out gorgeous. If I didn't ask, I would thought that was a photograph for the background in the lower half of the hourglass.
Bayo's also got really nice feathery tips, not sure why you thought it was too solid before but it gives off a very soft feeling already. For such a dark-colored outfit, you chose some nice shading colors to make the details still pop out.
On a ending note, my eyes are so pleased with this and I sincerely hope you keep painting hehe~ Cheers to you surviving this and crying happily now!

Not gonna lie, I was so tempted to just use the screencap I had for reference as the bottom half. So tempted...
//tauches you with her feather tips actually that's hair... Funny enough, I actually didn't have much color troubles with this one. I think it's since I went for semi-realistic colors the game had and it made things easier for me. It was just dark shadows and very shiny reflective objects.
YOUR EYES MAY BE PLEASED BUT MINE SURE AIN'T. NICOLE WAS MAKING FUN OF ME FOR MY SKETCH WHEN SHE SAW IT.

I am glad you didn't fall for that temptation, as this came out nice just the way it is. I also keep forgetting that's her hair not decorated feathers. That's one less factor to stress over if the colors didn't give you as much problems.
Unfortunately, I don't remember the visuals of the initial sketch.... BUT ITS OK, THE END RESULT MADE IT ALL WORTH IT HAHHA

I forgot those were her hair and not feathers too until I typed that comment out. LOL
THE INITIAL SKETCH LOOKED PRETTY MUCH THE SAME EXCEPT IT WAS SUPER MESSY AND NOT DETAILED. I had to redraw the bottom city's sketch because the first one wasn't detailed enough and so Nicole laughed at me for that. Well it worked out in the end 'cause the second half is waaaaaay more detailed than the first half's city. HAHAHA
