I tried to be more "gentle" and not put 1000 layers of paint. I still wasn't sure if it's finished...I thought it's missing something
I don't know

Well..it wasn't planned...but
It wasn't even meant to be "Asian" inspired

Looks lovely! I like how it looks, so soft and gentle indeed, I like the lighter skin, I also like the asian feel it has, the hair, the way you did the face!

Thank you...I'm trying some different things...and some work out, some don'tΒ Β
But if I'm honest...not even I know what I'm doing.Β Β

Haha, who even does know
It looks good, I like this somewhat lighter technique if I'm honest! I found that sometimes your skins were looking so dark even though they are white people, it looked a little overdone sometimes, and I think it's nice you're trying different things!

Ah...I see...thank you for the feedback!
That overdone is a big problem...I know

Quick?Β Β
I don't even know how long I was painting it...ok...the painting was quick...but I had looooong pauses in between. Just haven't had the time to make art
And now that I'm writing...this sketch is probably over 2 months old...maybe more don't have any time recollections.

With a lot of water used, it means you have to do everything quick. It doesn't give you time, like oil would, for example. :3

Makes sense
But if you're like me and paint and paint and paint...it takes for ever.

Look, I like the softness on the face and her kimono
"gentleness" wise I think it's perfect!
then I think the hair is a bit messy
but hair is hard
and I still don't know how to make it look good
so idk wht to tell you =/
then the left side clashes with the lots of hair on the right side
and though we can be tempted to say put more on the left side, cuz now it looks like something's missing
I think that if you were softer on that hair, that is actually in the background, compared to her face,Β
it wouldn't look unbalanced
I think the whole top right section isn't needed, let's see
now we can add some detail on the left, give it a reason why it would come and cut into her like that
maybe those are some blooms, a sakura branch whatever
and since they're in the foreground, they'd deserve a tiny bit more detailing, and then we get some depth?
what do you think???
I know you love hair
and I know I'm not a pro
just some ideas ^^

I seeΒ Β
That thing without the top right arm/hair...o.O
Looks good.
I was kinda lost when I painted it...interesting feedback to see what I could have improvedΒ Β
The funniest part is the unbalanced...I always make one half busy, the other half weak.^^Β
Or 99% covered in paint so nothing is recognizable anymore

OH I just noticed it was her arm + kimono sleeve
I thought it was a tree branch and the hair was tangled in it
oops ^^"
do you plan before what you're going to draw?
Or do you just go yolo?

yolo...always
Art is the only thing where I don't think...the rest of my life is over-kill over-thinking

well, a tiny bit of planning should save your day
just... not over thinking
just trying to write her story
mm like
she's a girl, playing with her hair
they you go in front of the mirror, do you thing, I know you have long hair ^^
then sketch it small thumbnail, see if you like it
if no, change her arm position
oh yeah perfect!!!
now go paint!!!!

umm...that is already over thinking
I see what you're trying to tell me...and you're right I agree 100%
I have a short focus-span on art...I'm full on ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). *not to offend anyone of course*
I'm impulsive...just make a line..why...it doesn't matter just draw it there.Β That's why no preliminary sketches, thumbnails, sketch books.
