a brown-shirted Plane Captain confers with the NFO in the aft cockpit of a Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet prior to the pilot boarding and being directed to the catapult for launch. an enlisted/petty officer Plane Captain is assigned to each aircraft on the ship,and is personally responsible to the commissioned pilot and squadron commander for that one very expensive plane,s care and maintenence,a very big job for a person sometimes under 21!Related content

a carrier deck during a series of launches,is just a mad-house! and all it takes is one person to make a mistake.....!

no kidding. i wonder if there will be a bigger one some day in the future. i heard about a very large cruise ship boat thing that has an airport big enough for smallish private jets to land/take off on a normal runway. that would be kinda cool. i don't know if it'll ever actually be built. but the idea is intriguing.

USS Nimitz,May 1981......that was a real mess. and i had just had all 4 wisdom-teeth extracted,and was all doped up on Percodan......! {narcotic,very strong stuff}
